@trust_level_0 This has been on my mind a lot and its time to go public. I can't but help but feel like I'm talented at innovating. Nowhere near a dev but creative enough to make something happen. TKB is meant to show all thec kinda shit we COULD be doing, but honestly, I don't know how to generate engagement. This is something I considered for years but kept dismissing-- for these very same suspicions I now know:
Only ONE PERCENT of forum users even create a thread. Most either contribute or lurk. I can't imagine what this numbers look like for anyone actually trying to make a forum outright. We have lurkers that never contribute. But they're not contributing they don't see anyone else before them. It's a vicious cycle.
I've never once asked for, or even offered the opportunity for anyone to offer a single dime. Everything has been out of my own desires, money, and collective spirit. I'm not asking for money now either -- I'm just trying to explain how I've gone down this road before, and my intellectual property blackballed just to be stolen by major (global) companies (loooong before this), and the deja vu I'm experiencing now. I could just get whatever papers these companies want to hire me and benefit myself and my personal/family desires. That's all that seems to matter and I've lost years swimming against the tide. If we do close, I hope brehs at least liked what I was trying to offer and if similar products pop up elsewhere, remember it started here.
Some ideas and concepts are ahead of their time. I think Trump 2.0 and the expansion of the podcast-o-sphere has made people more receptive to entertainment that distracts them from the crazy reality of the day.
There's a smaller audience out there appreciate KB type energy and options, but just harder to locate them. At any rate, THANK YOU for the time and effort you put into this place, Bud. or Kenny . Whichever you prefer.
No need to shut down. I have had projects for years trying to make them work, and it was AI that pushed me further. Who knows what tech will exist next year or in a few months. I say that to say, keep at it if you can.
I have nothing against the platform. It's just you need a critical mass of people to keep the venture going.
This is why I suggested a few months ago that you and keaf could benefit from a joint venture.
I think the kickback is salvageable at least from the user perspective but you'd have to figure out how to get your own unique user base through sales. As crazy as it sounds it may need monetary investment to promote the kickback on other (non-coli) platorms or websites. Alternatively, you could break the cycle with monetary investment to bring a c-list name onto your platform for an AMA for example I totally think you could get a person like young joc on your platform for just 1k or Shawn Harrison from family matters. Alternatively you could tilt away from professionals into niche interests like a up and coming kik streamer fir your entertainment section or that breh in the bathrobe that does porn reviews for your equivalent of jbo.
But the common theme is that you would need money or at least a favor to get the base. Again , @buddy you've built a really great thing here but very few people know about it.
Yeah... its a wrap. We just had our weekly meeting at my job and it was announced this girl is now our senior analyst. Brand new role... she can't even do her own work right or on time I've beat the entire crew for 2+ years now and the manager and when I mentioned how I'd like to be in that role if/when it's ever created in my last evaluation, my manager skipped right over it.
As much as I like all of this-- a breh has serious ambitions. In a perfect world I'd already be where I wanna be and pour more into sales, etc. But I just ain't got the time anymore. Gotta pour into myself and skills. I'll definitely archive everything tho. Best case scenario, I'll open back up at a later date. Shutting down March 1st now.
