To not only survive the massacre, but survive so many of the generations after, survive beyond the average human life expectancy AND inspire is truly something to behold. At the same time, she survived generational traumas, a lifelong fight for reparations, and rejection by the Oklahoma Supreme Court (never forget). In a lot of ways, it honestly feels like stern call to those of us inspired to the tasks at hand, the labor required, and the urgency to ACCEPT the torch being passed.
Justice may not occur in our lifetime-- even if we beat the odds of that expected lifetime. So it's imperative for us to pick up the mantle and move forward. God willing, some among us will follow a path similar to hers. Rest In Power ![]()
