Reminds me of those disrespectful ass "Black history" memes renaming actual figures with 'first to ____' stereotypes. Also a large part of why I only use School sparingly, quick little blurbs, etc

Only going to get worse in the future. Ive seen pbs and history channel documentaries that I felt fudged, reached, omitted, or lied about documented facts and events.

Imagine what type of false stuff is being promoted by YTer “history" channels by regular people.

And even worse imagine the blatantly false “history" videos being put out maliciously.

I don't wanna say it but this problem has me thinking of a potential solution.
It's a double-edged sword... I might need to seriously look into it.

Bud, the thing is, documented recorded historical records are readily available. Have never been more accessible in history than they are today.

Person who says “F that" and opts to watch a video instead, made a deliberate choice to avoid reading the works of Historians and scholars.

There were groups of Black academics who informally created Hillman Tik Tok, and posted lectures and course content. That's a great option to have, but as long as kids and adults are drawn to vids rather than History books, the bad actors have an audience for their misinformation.

I hear and consider all of that. They're informing the idea, but it's only an idea... lots of factors outside of our control

Yep. Good luck on your idea to address the matter. Between the anti-Black administration in office, and the way disinformation is promoted online we definitely need things that push back.

I'm working on a few multimedia projects with actual Black sources

I don't mean anything mystical or some shit saying we're natives, jews, or arabs, books written by slaves, freedmen, and 2nd generation freedmen

It's astounding that AAs and WIs changed the world in under half a millennium, there's so much work to be done but that's always been the case
