Global sports brand PUMA and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture have announced the second drop in their collaboration. The partnership, which first launched in 2023, champions education, empowerment, and cultural enrichment within the Black community through scholarships, funding initiatives, exclusive product drops, community engagement opportunities, and more.
In celebration of the Schomburg Center’s 100th Anniversary, the 2025 collection draws inspiration from the classic personal style of the library’s first patrons during the Harlem Renaissance. In 1925, the Division of Negro Literature, History, and Prints—the forerunner to today’s Schomburg Center—as a special collection of The New York Public Library’s 135th Street branch. The division grew greatly the following year with the purchase of the personal collection of Arturo Alfonso Schomburg, the distinguished Puerto Rican–born Black scholar and bibliophile. Today’s Schomburg Center is one of the world’s leading institutions devoted to the preservation and study of materials focused on African American, African Diasporic, and African experiences. Its wide-ranging collections illuminate the richness of global Black history, arts, and culture, and continue the tradition of its namesake.

As part of this collaboration, PUMA’s first employee-led collective of Black creatives, We Are Legends, launched a limited PUMA x Schomburg Center collection blending classic Puma styles with art objects seen at the Schomburg Center.
We Are Legends (WAL) is PUMA’s first employee-led collective of Black creatives that celebrate Black culture through design and fashion. Designed as an affirmation, WAL aims to empower a new era of Black creatives through their 3 pillars of community, education, and donation. The limited-collection features an iconic PUMA Suede sneaker, as well as graphic tees, hoodies, sweatpants, and more. PUMA: We Are Legends x Schomburg Center collection will be available for purchase on PUMA.com, the PUMA Mobile App, and at the PUMA NYC Flagship store.
